"Spring" 2018 blizzard

Spring? Ok, so wires got crossed somewhere. I thought it was suppose to be Spring. Friday and Saturday brought wind, rain, and a nice dumping of snow. Sioux Falls reported 13 inches. The wind howled and blew hard so it is hard to tell how much but the most we have had yet. We thought we could leave the shovels put away and let it melt but when opening the garage door we discovered a different story. Outside family bonding time! It didn't really take that long and after being indoors for two days it was nice to get out and get some fresh air. Church was cancelled and we just stayed tucked in where it was warm and cozy. Sunday afternoon the sun did come out and melted a bunch already. The one thing I do like about spring snow is it melts and goes away fast. They say more on Wednesday though so we'll see what the next round brings and then hopefully this is it and the next form of moisture is rain!

Um...I think the sign is off a bit

Easter fun

We have a fun weekend celebrating Easter. Our church puts on what is called Sonrise Saturday on Easter Saturday so we headed there to experience it for our first time. There were stations set up around the church following Christ and what he went through. To list a few: bread and grapes for the last supper, we saw the nails they used and then got to pound golf tees into squash, they had a cross to try and carry, they had a crown of thorns, they had vinegar to taste...it was a very neat experience. They served a light breakfast and the boys also got to make a craft. We then went outside for an egg hunt. It was cold so the eggs were found and back inside everyone went. On Easter we woke up and had hot cross buns and then off to church we went. Heath and Janelle joined us for lunch, an indoor egg hunt for the boys and an afternoon of board games. It was a fun weekend!

Happy Easter - HE IS RISEN!
