Sledding

Oh what fun it is to sled on a 14 degree day! The wind was blowing and it was cold but that didn't stop us from a little fresh air and sledding fun. All three boys had a blast and were up and down the hill many times. Levi surprised us a bit with how eager he was to sled and all by himself too. It was a fun family adventure. It was then nice to come home to a warm house, warm food and an afternoon of family games. A great way to spend a Saturday.
Levi and Micah getting ready to race.

Ethan trying the snowboard and doing a great job. He made it all the way down without falling over!

Igloo

On a cold and blustery Iowa day the 4 boys headed outside for some fresh air and snow fun. Dave got out his igloo maker and started construction. He got three levels done before it got too dark. We now have a half built igloo in the backyard. It makes for a great snow fort for the boys and great for snowball fights.

Roller skating

First time roller skating! This week and next there is after school skate at the fitness center. The boys have never really roller skated before and I thought it would be a fun adventure. Levi lasted about 2 minutes and decided it wasn't for him so he just watched with Mommy. Ethan made it the whole time and is wanting to go back again tomorrow. We picked up Micah's friend, Dillon, and he came with us and they lasted for about 45 minutes. I'm proud of all of them for trying and sticking with it as long as they did.

Daddy's Birthday!

Daddy and his boys! We had fun decorating with streamers and balloons, making him birthday dinner and brownie sundae's.

Christmas program

Ethan and Micah both had a part in the Christmas program at our church. Ethan was one of the three wisemen and Micah was Joseph. They both did a great job and had fun.

Family Christmas

Time to catch up on pictures now that we have a computer that works. Our old one bit the dust and it took a few weeks to get a new one. We are up and running again though so can share pictures and catch up on our December.

Christmas came to the Carlson home! We started out our day with stockings and yummy cinnamon coffee cake for breakfast. Enjoyed having a day home together as a family watching TV, playing electronics and playing games. We made yummy swedish meatballs, noodles and cranberries for dinner and then finished off the evening opening our presents for each other.

Mommy, her boys and her new griddle and potholders.
Daddy, his boys and his new hose for his air compressor.
Dad and Mom got them all things to use in the summer...guess they'll be waiting awhile to use these Christmas presents. =) They like them though and can't wait to use them. A bat and baseballs for Ethan. Bases and wiffle balls for Micah. Soccer goal for Levi. They also gave each other gifts. What a great day it was! We also enjoyed Ethan reading us the Christmas story out of the Bible. Thank you Jesus for coming as a baby in the manger!
