Family Christmas

We had Christmas just the four of us. It was fun to see the boys excitement. Dave read the Christmas story and both boys had fun talking about it and putting in their parts about Baby Jesus and the shepherds. It is so neat to hear your children talk about Jesus and see the joy in their faces as they do. We pray that God's word continues to work in their hearts and we experience the joys of them one day committing their lives to Him!

Micah got a cool bumblebee flashlight, a book, and a movie.

Ethan got a game, a book, and some rhyme cards

They also both got sleds and igloo makers. Now all we need is the snow so they can use them.

Daum Family Christmas

We enjoyed heading home for Daum Family Christmas this past weekend. It didn't really feel or look like Christmas with no snow and temperatures in the 40's but it was good traveling weather and nice for getting outside and getting some fresh air.

Christmas Eve
The boys got sailor hats and they are a big hit. This is them with their lifejackets on their boat. I love creative minds!

December bike ride

Sunday brought very warm weather to us and the boys decided a bike ride was a good idea. I do believe this is the first time we have ever gone bike riding in December. They had fun and got some fresh air and Mommy got a quiet house for a bit.

Our little star

Ethan had his preschool Christmas program tonight. He has been working hard on the songs and his line he got to say. What a cute program by all the kids.

Ethan was Glowly the star
Ethan is on the right side right behind the mike. He sang with all his heart and with being by the mike we heard him very well.

He made us this rug out of his handprints so we can keep it and see how much his hands grow over the years.

New Bible

Our church presents all the two years olds with a small Bible after their performance in the program. Micah is so excited that he now has his own Bible just like Ethan's.

Micah was first and is on the left.

Sunday School Christmas program

We had our church Sunday School Christmas program last night. Both boys were up first with the preschoolers singing; "Away in a manger" and "Jesus loves me." There were actions as well and Micah surprised us by actually doing them in front of everyone. Ethan of course had no problem with the actions. It was fun to see them singing and hard to believe Ethan moves on next year to the big program!

All the preschool kids. Ethan is on the left back by the Christmas tree, Micah is front in the red vest.

Family pictures

We had fun over Thanksgiving taking some family pictures. Uncle Brian did a wonderful job capturing some fun moments on digital, can't say film anymore. We saved the best for the Christmas card but here are a few other favorites...

Thankful

We had fun again this year with our thankful tree. Mommy found a tree branch that worked great for hanging our leaves on it each day. For the many days leading up to Thanksgiving we said what we were thankful for, wrote it on a leaf, and hung it on our tree. It was neat to hear what each boy was thankful for.

Trick-or-Treating

We had a beautiful evening on Halloween to head out and get candy. Both boys were ready for Daddy to come home from work so we could head out. Ethan was a Fireman and Micah was Lightening McQueen from the movie Cars.

Off they go. We hit about 5 houses with nobody home and were beginning to wonder if we were going to find anyone at home. We did though and they both were heading up to the doors and ringing the bells on their own.
The candy stash. Both did well and we now have more then enough to last us awhile.

Carving pumpkins

We had fun carving pumpkins on Sunday afternoon. Thank you Papa and Nana for growing big ones again this year. Both boys watched Dad and Mom clean out all the insides. Ethan helped a little with a spoon but we couldn't get them to dig into it like we were. Then it was Daddy the master carver and the boys told him what they wanted on their pumpkins. We all had a fun time and then enjoyed seeing them lit after dark.

Ethan was making a mad face like he told Daddy to carve on his pumpkin.

Preschool fall party

Ethan had a fall party today at preschool. Yesterday we made cupcakes with candy corn and pumpkins to share with his class. He had a blast putting the candy on to decorate each one. Then today he dressed up like Thomas the Train and off he went for his party. They went around the church and got candy from the librarian, office staff and janitors then it was back to their room for yummy food. Micah and Mommy joined them for the parade and food. What a fun time we all had. They are both really looking forward to what is coming with Halloween on Monday night.

Preschool class all dressed up ready for the parade around church.

Getting candy in the library.

Food time...Yummy!

Pumpkin painting

Yesterday we decided to paint our pumpkins we got at the pumkin patch a few weeks ago. It was great fun and now we have two very painted pumpkins at our house. Another great fall afternoon activity. Mommy was running out of ideas and was glad to pull this one out of her hat. And score when they think it is cool as well.
