Camping

Ethan and Daddy got in a Father/Son camping trip this weekend. It was a great weekend to be outside and they both had a lot of fun. Dave says he'll take both boys next year. Micah did fine with staying with Mommy and not being a part of the boys although he missed them and was very happy to be apart of boys again when they came home. Ethan was a big help with putting up the tent, Mommy went to help with that part but Ethan did great. Next year I'll send them on their own and let them be all boy!

It was also the weekend for the sailboat regata. They said there were tons of them.

Fun in the sand on the beach.

Preschool

Today was Ethan's first day of preschool. He was excited! He gave Micah instructions that he was to take care of Mommy, it was too cute! Ethan requested Mickey Mouse pancakes for breakfast and then we got all his supplies and his backpack and headed out. Mommy didn't shed a tear until after he came home and showed me his papers and he had made a handprint paper on a poem about him being in preschool and having fun and that he would be ok each day. We can't believe our little man is off to preschool. Where do the years go?

Off he goes!

Riverboat Days

Yankton had Riverboat Days this past weekend. We got to see the fireworks on Friday night, sorry no pictures, and then also many activities on Saturday. It was the perfect weather for it this year, last year was VERY hot and not enjoyable. We actually had rain sprinkles on us during the parade on Saturday morning.

This is Ethan's preschool float in the parade.
Ethan all ready for the candy. We made a good haul!

Riding the train. Both loved it.

Harvest

The boys and Mommy headed home to visit Papa and Nana this past week and get in on the very end of harvest. They were going to finish on Wednesday but rain stopped them so we got to help them finish on Thursday. Both boys got a tractor ride and Ethan also got in the combine. We all had a fun time. Thank you Papa and Nana!

You also can't go home to the farm and not get a 4-wheeler ride. It was a little cool this morning and Mommy didn't bring jackets because it had been so hot so Nana made them superman capes to keep them warm.

Storm

The rain came...the wind blew...and the hail hit...HARD! Thankfully we weren't home otherwise I'm sure the boys would have been scared as would have Mommy. We were lucky with only one broken window, dented sidding, and plants destroyed. We heard quarter sized hail here but bigger other places and then some just had rain. Dave was at work and didn't get much of a storm in Scotland. The boys and Mommy were visiting Papa and Nana. We have the insurance adjusters coming to give us their opinion and then we can work on fixing a few things. Oh the adventures of life!

The storm hit the north side of the house.

This was a rhubarb plant. Guess we'll be waiting for next year before we get any more rhubarb.
We had beautiful purple coneflowers...

Hiking

Saturday was a beautiful day so out we headed for a little hiking. It was cool enough to wear pants! We've been enjoying the cooler weather. Glad the 90-100's are over!

Our two little hikers checking out the map before hitting the trail.

Mommy and Micah

Micah made it on his own most of the way but near the end wore down and rode with Daddy the rest of the way to the car.

60th anniversary celebration

We headed to Nebraska a few weekends ago to celebrate my Grandparent's 60th wedding anniversary. It was a quick weekend but a fun one. It was great to see family and to celebrate 60 wonderful years with my Grandparents. God has blessed them, continues to bless them and we have all been blessed by them.
