Father's Day

One special Daddy. Two clean cars. Three grown up boys. On Sunday we celebrated Daddy. It was a fun day. The boys gave Dave a brush to wash the cars and he put it to good use. We also spent some time swimming at the lake and out to DQ for an ice cream treat. We have a very special Daddy and are thankful for all he does for and with us.

Swimming lessons

This week brought summer in full swing. We have enjoyed being home from school. Doing some garden work. Going for bike rides. Playing at the park. And...swimming lessons. Ethan and Micah both participated in swimming lessons this week. We decided to get them in and done early so we aren't tied to home later if things come up and we don't want to be home. Levi wouldn't have done anything different then he did last year so we decided to hold him out and put him in next year. Both boys did a wonderful job and really enjoyed each day. Today was the last day and to finish it off everyone went off the diving board. They moaned when I told them they were taking lessons but after day one both were saying they couldn't wait to go back tomorrow. They both passed their levels with flying colors. Now for more summer, stayed tuned for more adventures!

Awards

On Friday for the last day of school the boys were given awards for the year. Each child in the class was awarded something different as to their personalities and what they brought to the class. Micah got the Following Directions award and was also given an award for participating in track and field day. Ethan was given the Most Responsible award and also placed 2nd in the 50 meter dash on track and field day. Ethan then was awarded 1st place for a picture he drew awhile back that was submitted to the county for a contest. He didn't know he had gotten first so it was a surprise all around. They announced 3rd then 2nd and then 1st and I wasn't expecting his name to be called, so the picture is a bit off as I scrambled to take it. So proud of our boy! It has been a good year and they look forward to next year and not being the new kid on the block. We are now into summer! We'll see what kind of fun things we can come up with. Stay tuned....

Take me out to the ball game!!

We started a new sport this year. Ethan is playing baseball. We moved last year right at the time he would have played so he had to wait until this summer to play. He is learning and doing well and enjoying it. They don't keep score but are there for the learning experience of it. He has made one hit that got him to first base! He has gotten lots of balls and walks most of the time. Dave is helping coach and Ethan loves having Dad help. The rest of us are enjoying watching and cheering him on.
