Band concert

Ethan will be entering the 5th grade this fall. 5th grade means that he can start band. One day near the end of school they were given the opportunity to try out band instruments and he really liked the clarinet. Even though we are moving they allowed him to join the other 5th grade kids here and do lessons during the month of June. He has really enjoyed it. Today was a concert with all the kids and their instruments. They all did an awesome job. He is excited to continue with the clarinet when we move to Brandon.

Family vacation

This last week we headed for the Black Hills. We stopped in Sioux Falls for a little shopping, saw the house and enjoyed a picnic and some park fun. Then it was off to Papa and Nana's house for the night and then with them headed for the Hills. A stop at Wall Drug for some fun and lunch and were joined by Heath and Janelle and then to the Palmer Gulch KOA. We had a fun three days full of many activities. Ethan, however, decided to join Mom with a hurt foot, the first day there while jumping on an inflatable pillow stepped wrong and sprained his foot. Dad was then his main form of transportation for the weekend. We did stop at urgent care in Rapid to have an x-ray just to make sure it wasn't broken and we got him on crutches once we got home. It was fun to be away and have family time but it is always good to come home again as well.

 Park fun in Sioux Falls
 Wall Drug backyard
A four person peddle bike but power by the back two people only. What a workout from what I hear. I asked Dave and Heath if it was 30 minutes of fun or torture? The two hurt foot people up front enjoyed the ride for the most part. Good laughter was had by all.
 A little mini golf
 One big chess game

 The inflatable pillow
Ethan after the inflatable pillow, poor boy!
 ATV fun

 A little swim time
Wagon ride to a chuckwagon dinner

Ethan and his new form of transportation. He has become a wiz and actually scares his Mom as she thinks he moves too fast.

More house

The house is all sided and the roof is half shingled. The outside is about done so now we'll have to start taking and posting interior photos. They are working on plumbing, electrical and hvac. They are hoping to start sheetrock next week. Things are taking shape inside and becoming to look and feel more like a house. We make about weekly trips to hit stores and make decisions. So many decisions! We are figuring it out though. I feel like I'm working on a big puzzle and I hope that once all the pieces are picked out that it all looks good together.

House

We were in Brandon on Saturday to see the house. There is good progress. They are hoping to pour cement in the garage and start the siding this week. We then headed into Sioux Falls and hit some stores to continue the never ending process of picking out house stuff. Lots of things looked at, many more decisions to make but they are coming along. We are all excited and since the house is taking better shape it is easier to see it as a house and not just wood.

Father's Day

Celebrating a wonderful Father! The boys bought Dave some wood pellets for his grill and some potholders for grilling. We had a fun day and Dave put the grill to good use grilling burgers for lunch and chicken kabobs for dinner.
